ALLIBERT Cyril

Tout simplement magnifique, le descriptif correspond bien à la réalité. Très bon accueil et maison splendide. Toutefois une chose à rajouter qui me parait essentiel, c'est que depuis la maison, il y a une vue superbe de l'Etna. August 2016

Vivienne

We enjoed our holiday at Masseria Buonriposo! We loved the beautiful garden with flowers and trees, and the stunning sea view. The garden around the villa is very pleasant. It let you stay a lot of time open-air. We used a lot the terrace close to the kitchen to have lunch and dinner. The villa inside is spacious and very elegant. We will advertise Masseria Buonriposo and Hitsicily! June 2016

Summary

There are several things about this villa that will catch your attention straight away. The immaculate garden surrounding the house will most likely be the first and the second thing is the strong link with the past and to the volcano Mt Etna that can be felt within the house and its grounds. The use of the striking volcanic rock and the particular architectural style common to Catania have resulted in a gracious and enticing residence that's like no other. The house was once an old animal stable and storage shed but the detailed restoration and conversion has highlighted its best features. There is a beautiful sea view and a small vegetable patch adding the finishing touches to your rich Sicilian style vacation.

Property details

The villa is immersed in 6000m² of lawned garden, shrubs, lofty trees and flowers galore. There is a swimming pool too with sun-deck where there are inviting sunbeds, comfy table and chairs and a shower. The most unexpected part of the garden though is the corner surrounded by a vineyard trellis where there's a well, a small water trough where the animals once drank and an organic vegetable patch that's tended to by the house's owner. Once through the main door, you'll be in awe at the magnificent double-storey living room that used to be a stable and agricultural storage area but is now a smart living area. Up the elegant wooden staircase to the loft space where there are two single beds and then onto the master bedroom and ensuite bathroom with its fine linen and fabrics. Both these rooms share a terrace to make the most of the stunning views of Mount Etna and the coast. This terrace also has an external staircase providing independent access to the sleeping area from the first floor. On the ground floor, just off the living area is the dining room with table for 8 and an authentic Sicilian style kitchen with loads of space and modern cons. There is also a small area with a table for 6 just off the kitchen as well as another large patio with a barbecue and two tables for 6 people. The dining room leads to a second sleeping area with two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a tub. The ground floor also has a laundry room.

The house is halfway between the towns of Santa Venerina and Acireale and is the perfect location for beach-lovers as there is a great beach about 6 kilometres from the house. It's also ideal for visiting the Parco del Vulcano Etna, (Park of Mount Etna), its the southern slopes being just 5 kms away, Zafferana Etnea or Nicolosi. Another place that's definitely worth visiting is the Alcantara Gorges and for golf lovers the Picciolo golf course near the lovely town of Castiglione di Sicilia. The house is also quite handy to the entrance of the Catania-Messina motorway which makes day-trips and excursions to many places a breeze. We highly recommend Catania,Taormina and Siracusa as well as attractions such as Parco dei Nebrodi (the Nebrodi Park) via Cesarò and the villages of Montalbano Elicona and Novara di Sicilia.
