Yvonne & Todd

What a lovely villa! We found it quite difficult to leave it – so relaxing by the pool with loads of shade so no one got burnt! Good restaurants just beyond the square by the beach with stunning views over the sea.

Summary

Elegant and modern villa located in the residential area of Mondello just 1.6 Kms from the seaside so the beach is easily reached on foot or by bicycle. The house is immersed in a wonderful 3500 m² Mediterranean garden and is surrounded by lush, verdant neighbouring villas. There is a large inviting swimming pool (mt. 14X7) set in immaculate lawns opposite the patio area for swimming if you don't feel like walking to the beach. The cool, breezy garden offers lots of sociable spots in which to gather, share a drink or simply laze in the shade.

Mondello is a charming fishing village that is just a short bus ride from the Sicilian capital Palermo and where the city-dwellers have been escaping to for generations. Wealthy residents started buying up the elegant Liberty-style villas as their summer residences in the 1930s due to its proximity to Palermo (7 kilometres). There is a sunny, holiday atmosphere and you may wish to do as the locals do and enjoy the soft white sand and wading into the turquoise sea. The lively yet laid-back village has loads of bars and restaurants which become even more popular in summer. If it is sightseeing you're fond of, then the buzzing city of Palermo has lots to offer. A bit further afield is San Vito Lo Capo, the Zingaro nature reserve, Erice, Selinunte, Segesta and many other places of interest can be easily reached.
