What a beautiful dream place: the house, the garden, the pool, the trees and hammocks for the hot afternoons. We enjoyed every morning, midday and evening here. Thank you for your guidance

WOW! What a place! A beautiful, comfortable and very stylish home with the warmest of welcomes from Daniela on arrival. We really couldn't have asked for a more dreamy place to stay. We spent breakfasts by the pool, with fresh mandarins to pick from the trees, were out during the days for stunning local walks, swims, hot spring baths and cliff climbing, and dined out under the stars cooking on the outdoor grill in the evenings, with the smell of fresh herbs and lemons in the air. The woodburner kept us all cosy in the cooler April nights. We all slept well and had a super time. Wonderful.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à la Falconeria. La maison est très jolie et spacieuse, les espaces extérieurs aussi, le tout décoré avec goût. La piscine est grande et très agréable. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Daniela et son mari. Il faut néanmoins savoir que la route nationale n’est vraiment pas loin, mais cela n’est pas dérangeant. Et que la maison est pensée comme un loft donc peu d’insonorisation entre les chambres, mais c’est ce qui fait son charme !

La Falconeria est vraiment un endroit de rêve pour des vacances en famille , espace, meublé avec goût , piscine superbe . Il est indispensable d'avoir une voiture car les transports en commun se font rares même pour rallier la côte à une dizaine de kilomètres . Le dépaysement a été total pour nous et nos enfants accompagnés de leurs amis. Alcamo est une petite ville assez agréable, peu touristique mais avec une authentique vie Italienne que nous avons eu plaisir à côtoyer pour les achats quotidiens . Accueil chaleureux des propriétaires .

My friends and I spent a wonderful moment in la Casa Falconeria. Daniela and her husband have been extremely nice and gave us many suggestions of places to visit and restaurants around this charming house. The location of the house is also very convenient to explore Palermo and Western Sicily - we would definitely recommend!

Overview

Charming old wine making area in the middle of the north-western Sicilian countryside, surrounded by century-old olive trees and vineyards. This house has been renovated in an understated and natural style in symbiosis with the territory that surrounds it. A place in which to enjoy the abundant nature of the island in an ideal position to visit all the tourist sites of the area and take advantage of the beautiful fine sandy beaches along this stretch of coastline.

Property details

The house, which was once an ancient pressing room, retains its original structure. On the ground floor there is a large 80 m2 loft with a living, study and dining area. A door leads into a fully equipped kitchen with direct access to the garden. On the left of the loft there are two double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower. A short stairs leads to an open room with three single beds. This area is particularly suited to teenagers. Climbing the main stairs you access two double bedrooms; both have a small bathroom with washbasin and toilet. A short corridor connects the two bedrooms. This corridor gives access to the terrace with view of the countryside where there is an iron bathtub that doubles as a hot water shower. All this floor is open on the living area, but the privacy of the bedrooms is guaranteed because they have access doors that isolate them from the rest of the floor. On the outside, the house is surrounded by typical Sicilian countryside with olive, carob and mulberry trees and other Mediterranean plants. A small path surrounded by vineyards leads to the swimming pool area where there is a sundeck with sun loungers and a large patio with reed roof with dining table and chairs to seat 12. In the garden there are many shaded areas where it is a delight to relax and enjoy the nature that surrounds the property. The villa is located near a trunk road where lorries pass, and the noise can be heard outside in the back garden.


Additional information

The security deposit of 300 euros, to be paid in cash upon arrival, will be returned within 48 hours from departure by the owners by bank transfer in order to avoid a slowdown in the check-out procedures.

The municipality may require the payment of the daily tourist tax for all guests aged 12 and over. The amount, which may vary according to the season and the location, must be paid in cash to the reception manager upon arrival.

Surrounding Area

The house is just 40 kilometres from Palermo, so it is very easy to take a day trip to visit the beautiful chief town of Sicily, declared UNESCO world heritage site for the Arab-Norman route which includes numerous buildings, churches and monuments of that period. The house is found close to many of the most visited sites of interest on the island and to numerous beaches including those of Mondello, Balestrate, Scopello, San Vito lo Capo and the Natural reserve of Zingaro. The masterpieces to visit surely include the archaeological sites of Segesta, Selinunte and the island of Mozia. The medieval village of Erice is also interesting, as are the cities of Trapani and Marsala where a visit to the Salt mines and to the old mills is a must. In Marsala there are also many historical wine cellars including that of Florio. The magnificent islands of Egadi are a 40-minute journey away from Trapani by hydrofoil.
