Thanks to its variegated geographical characteristics and terrain, Sicily produces a large variety of grapes with different features. The vines are grown in territories very different from each other in terms of altitude, climate and conformation. These range from the coastal areas of Agrigento to the hills of Trapani and Marsala, to the higher areas of the Etna Volcano. There are many internal areas of the island that produce excellent wines, including Palermo, Ragusa and Syracuse. Today, food and wine tours are more and more in demand and appreciated as a way to discover the territory. Many wineries organise day trips for guests, offering an opportunity to admire the landscape, get to know the wine making techniques, visit the cellars and taste the Sicilian wines and local products. Many Sicilian wineries offer hospitality, we point out the most important in the various sections divided by geographical areas.
