Amazing location, very dreamy. We did not leave the house unless we needed to go groceries shopping, so basically we went out only to avoid starvation :D amazing two weeks, we will be back, this is a promise! We're in love with your house

The welcome was great, we were allowed to arrive early and the house, terrace and beach were all in mint condition. Thanks to the caretaker and owner for a fantastic week.

Overview

This is as close to heaven as it gets: an oasis of peace where you'll savour every minute of your day until the most evocative sunsets when colours turn warm and the air balmy. Whether you're staring out to sea with its bobbing octopus fishing boats or indulging in the moment before a starry evening ahead you'll feel blissfully happy. This is the Sicily of the Kaldura, one of the most striking headlands of the Sicilian coast. It's an idyllic gem with the sea at your feet perched above a secret cove.

Property details

Through the gate to a garden with an immaculate lawn that is cleverly the roof of the house too! A staircase leads to the main living room with an adjoining terrace where there are breathtaking vistas of the sea. You may actually end up spending most of your holiday there as it's delightfully inviting and cool under the thatched roof in the super comfortable outdoor lounges. From the terrace, some stone steps take you to a small private beach which is reserved for the few lucky owners of the neighbouring villas. In the main section of the house there's an open space living-kitchen area with loads of windows with views to the emerald green sea and rocky coast so you'll have divine views even if you are getting a meal together. One of the sofas in the living area converts into a double bed in case you need extra beds. Off here lies two double bedrooms and a small bathroom.

Surrounding Area

Cefalù is a picturesque, historical town on a rocky headland and has become hugely popular with tourists from all over the world. Overlooking one of the most scenic strips of Sicilian coastline, this little town with its unpretentious charm has something for everyone. Its narrow streets are lined with eateries and restaurants of every kind and if it's fish you are after, you'll certainly find it here. Cefalu has some grandeur in its past too-it was important enough for one of Sicily's Norman rulers to build a glorious Cathedral here. The town is also the doorway to the Madonie which is the most important Nature Park in Sicily with its noble, un-hurried, medieval villages that are full of surprises too. We highly recommend excursions to Castelbuono, Gratteri, Polizzi Generosa and Petralia Soprana and Sottana. To the west of Cefalu lies the city of Palermo – the true cradle of ancient Sicilian culture – which is a short hour's drive away. To the east, the ancient Greek colony of Tindari. On the way to Tindari there are loads of isolated beaches with crystalline clear waters in case you should feel like cooling off.
