The north-west coasts of Sicily are characterised by beaches of golden sand and grey-golden sand mixed with shingle. Almost all the beaches are set up as lidos and have the corresponding comforts. A few wild or quieter beaches are found inside the Zingaro Reserve or in the area of Cefalù. All are accessible only on foot.
