Villa Blu

The nearby Zingaro Reserve (2,5 km away) is a nature reserve that stretches along the north-west coast of Sicily, all the way from Scopello to San Vito lo Capo. The reserve is home to numerous species of flora and fauna creating the ideal backdrop for the rugged shoreline where there are inlets and beaches as lovely as you can find anywhere. The reserve attacts both walkers and bathers and the bays and inlets can be reached along trails that shoot off the main track. At the entrance of the reserve there's a car park and an information centre that distributes maps and sells the admission tickets. Within the reserve itself there are two museums and some rest stops. The hamlet of Scopello is also well-known for the nearby Tonnara (a stunning tuna fishery village that has been the set for a number of films), where the inviting waters are ideal for swimming. There's lots to do in the surrounding area starting from the Baglio di Scopello with its bars and restaurants. We recommend day trips to the archeological parks of Selinunte and Segesta, the medieval town of Erice and the Stagnone Reserve in Marsala. The buzzing city of Palermo is not to be missed and it's just an easy one-hour's drive away. Also of interest are the hugely popular nearby Aegadian Islands. For wine enthusiasts-there are numerous wineries to be visited too (some with excellent restaurants).
