Scicli

Immersed in Val Noto, this ancient saracen tower is one of the few remaining examples of fortified tower in southeastern Sicily, surrounded by a lush Arab garden.

This magnificent saracen tower has been skilfully renovated maintaining and enhancing its original features, namely the large stone arches, the niches, the roofs in reed and plaster, the dry walls and the characteristic Arab garden that features a refreshing swimming pool. Each corner of the house is a delightful place to experience and savour the true essence of Sicily. The house stands in a rural area a few kilometres from the magnificent sea of Sampieri and from the characteristic town of Scicli.

Surrounding Area

Scicli

From the house you can visit the beautiful baroque town of Scicli and discover its immense cultural, monumental and culinary treasures! The house is only 2 kilometres from the town centre and just a 10-minute drive to the sandy beach of Donnalucata (Playa Grande). From Scicli you can visit all the baroque towns of Valle di Noto. The UNESCO towns Noto, Modica, Ispica, Ragusa Ibla and Palazzolo Acreide are all within easy reach. The nature reserves of Vendicari and Cavagrande del Cassibile as well as the rocky Necropolis of Pantalica are all nearby too. The Donnafugata Castle, the seaside village of Marzamemi, Porto Palo di Capopassero and Punta Secca are all worth seeing too. No shortage of beaches either. Sunlovers are sure to love the one in the Irminio River Reserve, San Lorenzo in Marzamemi, Cala Mosche in Vendicari, Torre Ulisse in Pozzallo, to name just a few. The Donnafugata Golf Resort with its 18-hole course is also handy. Siracusa is a bit further afield but makes for an enjoyable day trip. If you do decide to go, it's well-worth visiting the archaeological park with its Greek Theatre and Ortigia. We highly recommend you trying the famous restaurants of the baroque towns while touring about the capitals of Sicilian cuisine.
