Property details

When La Cava was conceived, a simple floor plan and humble materials similar to those used in the antique millstones, were on the design plan. The house offers a large, spacious central area off which lie the 2 slightly elevated double bedrooms with sea views and 2 bathrooms. In the open-plan living area there is a corner kitchen, dining table and TV corner. Off here lies a patio area equipped with sun-loungers and dining table for 4 people. The remarkable use of local antique stone creates a warm and romantic ambience. Behind the house sits the lovely 5mt x 8mt swimming pool. Two fold-out beds can be supplied upon request for the living room. Close-by (approximately 100 metres away) is a characteristic Dammuso which can be rented together with this house for groups of up to 10 people.

Surrounding Area

Noto

The splendid baroque town of Noto with her cathedral and striking buildings with intricate facades is just a few kms from the house and if it's Baroque masterpieces you are fond of then you won't need to drive far to get to any of the other famous towns in the area such as Ispica, Ragusa Ibla, Palazzolo Acreide, Modica and Scicli. For nature-lovers then there's the Nature Reserve of Vendicari with its gorgeous beaches (we recommend Cala Mosche) and Cavagrande del Cassibile too where a walk down to the spectacular gorge takes about an hour. The small seaside village of Marzamemi is a bit further afield but well worth making a day trip for.
If you are a golf-lover you can visit the Donnaluca Resort which is not far from the Castello di Donnafugata which is a fine palace indeed and dates back to the 17th century. The location for the Italian television series "Montalbano" is nearby too at Punta Secca.
