The Monte Cofano nature reserve is a protected natural area located between the municipalities of Custonaci and San Vito Lo Capo, in the wonderful province of Trapani, of which it constitutes one of the most interesting natural and tourist attractions both nationally and internationally. Surrounded by silence and nature, this place is a real jewel on the north-western coast of Sicily, full of paths where time seems to have stopped.

Monte Cofano is a natural curtain between the wonderful Gulf of Castelluzzo to the east and that of Bonagia to the west. The reserve can be easily explored on foot and enjoy the splendid landscape, wild and uncontaminated: full of dwarf palm prairies, the green that enriches its shapes contrasts with the cobalt blue of the sea while the Ampelodesma glitters under the rays of the warm Sicilian sun. This unique and unrepeatable adventure among the colors and scents of the Mediterranean lasts about two hours walking but don't worry: you can always travel the Reserve by Mountain Bike.
There are three paths that can be traveled:
  • The Path of the Sea that winds along the coast line from Cornino to the bay of Castelluzzo;
  • The Sentiero Baglio which runs along the orinetale slope of Monte Cofano, from Baglio to the Tonnara di Cofano;
  • The Scaletta Path, for the more daring, which winds at the foot of the southern slope.
Among the things to see, you certainly cannot miss the Tonnara del Cofano which is one of the most beautiful attractions of the reserve of the same name precisely because of its position in front of that splendid crystalline sea that invites you to dive in and cool off. And speaking of the crystalline sea together with the majesty of Monte Cofano, how not to visit the wonderful Cornino beach adorned with small beaches and bars where you can enjoy an excellent aperitif in time to music at sunset? The perfect place for your trip to Sicily.
This idyllic place is also an excellent starting point for visiting this unprecedented part of Sicily: in addition to the famous tourist-seaside village of San Vito Lo Capo which boasts perhaps the most beautiful beach of fine white sand, you could visit the beaches of Castelluzzo and Makari; the Zingaro Nature Reserve is also a stop not to be missed together with the medieval village of Erice, the village and the Tonnara di Scopello, the historic center of Trapani and its salt pans and much more. And after this journey through the wonders that the Mediterranean has to offer, why not rest in one of our sensational luxury villas in the Trapani area? Western Sicily awaits you with open arms for a holiday full of adventures not to be forgotten.
