Selinunte

Striking Sicilian villa set in century-old olive grove. Perfect spot for relaxing and close to the sandy, white beaches of Selinunte and Menfi. Ideal for couples or families.

Villa Cucunza is an extraordinary example of Sicilian style living. It's immersed in century-old olive and citrus trees in the territory of Castelvetrano which is renowned for its "Nocellara" oil. The property is just a skip away from the archeological Park of Selinunte and from the district's splendid sandy beaches. It's ideally located for having a look around Western Sicily, seeing all its wonders and embracing its culture. You can unwind and become one with the nature in the immaculate garden of this striking villa.

Property details

When Villa Cucunza was designed, careful attention was paid to maintaining Sicilian style and keeping the local climate in mind - the outcome is a gorgeous house that blends in perfectly with its surrounings and is well suited to the hot days and balmy nights. The property is set in an olive grove that has been producing oil for decades. In the garden a magnificent leaf-shaped pool in immaculate lawns and by the pool, an area devoted to aperitifs and siestas with a dining table and comfy loungers. All the rooms of the one-level house lead directly onto the garden through glorious French doors and the high white rafters contrast beautifully with the smoky pink of the walls. There is chic furniture throughout and Italian paintings adorn the walls. In one section of the house, there is the kitchen, living and dining rooms and in the other section the bedrooms including two master bedrooms and a twin bedroom. Each bedroom has garden views, an ensuite and air-conditioning. To top it all off, the house is dotted with Italian design pieces and all the rooms are equipped with a docking system.

Surrounding Area

Selinunte

The house is surrounded by a 4-hectare olive grove that has been producing oil for decades. The property is situated near Castelvetrano and is an easy drive to the ancient remains of Selinunte which is an historically interesting archaeological park on the coast and boasts some of the most spectacular views of the sea that Sicily has to offer. The unspoilt beaches, such as the WWF oasis in Torre Salsa and Punta Granitola, are perfect for sunseekers and the location of the house is also ideal for those wishing to see the western side of the island. Possible day trips abound such as; the salt pans of Trapani, the medieval town of Erice, the theatre and the temple in Segesta and the Tuna fishery in Scopello , the lively town of Sciacca (also famous for its Carnival and thermal baths), Marsalaand its historic Wineries including Florio and Pellegrino, as well as San Vito lo Capo e Makari and the scenic (and unique). If you feel like going a little further afield you might like to visit the Valley of the Temples or the Scala dei Turchi a Realmonte with its pure white rock cliffs overlooking the sea. We also recommend Egadi islands for a day out and a regular hydrofoil service operates from Trapani's harbour. A boat gets you there in just 20 minutes.
