Scopello

Typical Mediterranean-style villa, beneath the rock of Scopello. Swimming pool and Jacuzzi with a view of the valley and the sea. Extensive outdoor areas with kitchen, barbecue, covered patio and multi-purpose sports ground. Close to the beach and the village of Scopello. Ideal for families.

Located on one of the most scenic strips of coastline in Sicily only a few steps away from the Zingaro Nature Reserve. This Mediterrenean-style villa has fanstastic views over the valley and the sea of Scopello. The Residence is strikingly positioned beneath a rock and feels thrillingly isolated, though the beaches and the hamlet of Scopello are incredibly close. Surrounded by 3,000 square metres of leafy Mediterrenean garden, this villa is comfortable, cosy, charming and very well looked after by its hospitable owners who love sharing their precious abode with their guests. In the garden there is a comfortable pool, ideal for swimming, and a Jacuzzi for 4 people, both have a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.

Property details

The house is immersed in a lush garden that abounds in ornamental plants typical of this area of the Mediterranean (palm groves, Bougainvilleas, roses and olive trees) with lots of private nooks and crannies where you can enjoy the stunning view or rest in absolute tranquillity. Facing the valley, on the main side of the house, is a large patio with dining table, outdoor kitchen and barbecue. On the west side, there is another shady patio. The swimming pool area and the deck with sea view are reached via a small staircase. There is also a Jacuzzi (for 4) in the pool area with a view of the valley and the sea and a patio with small dining table, also with a panoramic view. The main path gives access to a multi-purpose sports field which is also used for tennis. As night falls, the rock behind the house is lit up creating a magical atmosphere in the garden. The house occupies two floors; next to the entrance, on the ground floor, is a living room with couches, a TV and an American-style kitchen. Along the corridor you access the sleeping area comprising one double bedroom, one quadruple room with bunk beds and a bathroom with shower. From the living room, a staircase leads down to the floor below where there is a spacious bedroom with a double bed and one single bed, a bathroom with shower. Another single bed can be added to this bedroom if required. This floor also has independent access from the garden.

Surrounding Area

Scopello

The nearby Zingaro Reserve (2,5 km away) is a nature reserve that stretches along the north-west coast of Sicily, all the way from Scopello to San Vito lo Capo. The reserve is home to numerous species of flora and fauna creating the ideal backdrop for the rugged shoreline where there are inlets and beaches as lovely as you can find anywhere. The reserve attacts both walkers and bathers and the bays and inlets can be reached along trails that shoot off the main track. At the entrance of the reserve there's a car park and an information centre that distributes maps and sells the admission tickets. Within the reserve itself there are two museums and some rest stops. The hamlet of Scopello is also well-known for the nearby Tonnara (a stunning tuna fishery village that has been the set for a number of films), where the inviting waters are ideal for swimming. There's lots to do in the surrounding area starting from the Baglio di Scopello with its bars and restaurants. We recommend day trips to the archeological parks of Selinunte and Segesta, the medieval town of Erice and the Stagnone Reserve in Marsala. The buzzing city of Palermo is not to be missed and it's just an easy one-hour's drive away. Also of interest are the hugely popular nearby Aegadian Islands. For wine enthusiasts-there are numerous wineries to be visited too (some with excellent restaurants).
