It is the irresistible lure of the eastern coast of Sicily. The unique ambience of Taormina has always fascinated intellectuals, artists and snobs from all over the world. It is no coincidence that illustrious figures like Goethe, Nietzsche, Wagner, Klimt and D’Annunzio arrived here. The resort, situated 200m above sea level in a spectacular panoramic position, boasts a perfect mix of historic monuments and natural picturesque sceneries, like the nearby seaside destinations of Baia di Mazzarò, Capo Sant’Andrea, Isola Bella and Giardini di Naxos, ideal for sunbathing and swimming. The town, cut in two by Corso Umberto, the main street for strolling and shopping, becomes a cultural hub of excellence each year during “Taormina Arte”. This celebration of performing arts unfolds between June and October, above all on the fascinating open-air stage of the Greek theatre which has become the symbol of the city. The beaches of Letojanni, Mazzarò and Isola Bella are just a short drive away from the residence; Catania and Siracusa, the towns of Parco dell’Etna, le Gole di Alcantara and the marine villages of Riviera dei Ciclopi with Acitrezza and Acicastello are also easily reached.
