Sicily is not just a place, it is an experience made up of countless colors, scents, rich in history, invasions, domination and legends. A region rich in monuments, archaeological sites, natural parks and much more. And the reason for this premise is the province of Agrigento, one of the many and wonderful historical destinations of Sicilian tourism. Right here, in Montevago, a stone's throw from the Belice river, the thermal baths of Acqua Pia lie, full of history and mythology.

The thermal baths also offer an excellent starting point for visiting the wonders of the splendid province of Agrigento during your trip to south-western Sicily: from the beaches of Seccagrande and Eraclea Minoa to the natural reserves of the River Platani and Torresalsa, from the spectacular Scala dei Turchi and Punta Bianca to the mythical Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and again Selinunte, Mazara del Vallo, Marsala and Trapani.

And why not rest, after a day full of adventure and discovery, in one of our fantastic villas, with a luxuriant or rural taste, with a private swimming pool in the surprising surrounding area?

For centuries, the legend of two young shepherds of Belice has been told: Cinzio and Corinzia. The two youngs used to bathe in the waters of Montevago and one evening, after a sacred rite in honor of Venus, the Goddess gave them beauty and immortality by transforming him into a faun and her into a nymph. For this reason, the thermal spring was known as the "Holy Spring" with the healing power exploited by all the peoples who settled in the place over the centuries and associated with the desire for immortality.

It was only in 1933 that Dr. Giuffrida built a small spa, still present today, and began to scientifically experiment with the healing qualities of water by sending his patients there for treatment. In 1973 his wife Antonietta started an initiative to be able to fully exploit the field and build a new spa. Thus with tenacity and perseverance she started the spa and tourist-recreational activities in 1976.
